Midterm Paper How John Gould Fletcher Alludes to The Women’s Rights Movement in â€Å"Sea Rose† Plato is one of the most refined and well-respected philosophers of all time. In Book II of his work Republic, Plato claims that there are three versions of every object: the physical object itself, the 2D version of it on paper, and the mental image of the object you create in your mind when you think of that object. To Plato, this ideal mental image is the reality of that object more so than the 2D or physical forms. He goes on to discuss how he believes that this ideal image is something that the artist cannot portray in their work. He explains that â€Å"An image maker, a representer, understands only appearance, while reality is beyond him†(Plato 70). Plato uses the words â€Å"image maker† and â€Å"representer† to refer to artists-this term includes people like the painter, and the poet. By saying that â€Å"reality is beyond† these people, he is saying that people such as the painter and poet create work without instilling any true meaning behind i t; without expressing the ideal image of the subject of their art (Plato 70). Because they don’t express this ideal image of their subject, he claims that there is nothing real about their art. The steps and action foreshadowing steroids can be traced back to 1849, when a German scientist named Arnold Adolph Berthold conducted tests and experiments on Cockerels, concluding that their male testicles contain the necessary factors that make them male. This revelation may not attribute to the direct creation of anabolic steroids, however it casts’ a light towards understanding anabolic steroids and must not be dismissed. With the cooperation of Berthold’s discovery, a German chemist Adolf Butenandt was able to purify and extract testosterone from urine. With the collaboration of a fellow German chemist Leopold Ruziicka, they were able to create a synthetic form of testosterone safe for human use in 1935. He had a typical family, which consisted of his father Lionel Dahmer, his mother Joyce Dahmer, and his little brother David. When Jeffrey was eight years old, he and his family moved to the small town of Bath Township, Ohio. Since Jeffrey didnt have any friends there, he would spend most of his time in the woods behind their house. There he would mutilate and decapitate small animals, mostly dogs, cats, and squirrels. The police often rely on such people to provide accurate recollections of these situations in order to aid in their investigations. Research has shown however, that eyewitness testimony can be inaccurate and unreliable. It is absolutely crucial that eyewitness testimony be as accurate as possible, as there have been as many as 225 innocent people falsely convicted of crimes due to mistaken eyewitness identification (Innocence Project, 2013).
